Principles Of Painting
What if the color of the wall you see every day becomes your favorite?
The walls are painted in distinctive hues and display a variety of expressions. Painting on a flat wall is simple for novices. This time, we’ll demonstrate how to paint the walls of your living room for those of you who want to experiment with a brush or roller first but lack the confidence to paint a whole room.
The Colorworks Tokyo Showroom provides painting lessons and instructor dispatch services for those who want to learn how to paint. We suggest the Color Consultancy Service for color consultation.
Things To Prepare
- Masking Tape – Masking tape is a tape used to mark the border between regions that should and shouldn’t be painted.
- Masker – Taped vinyl sheet.
- Roller + Handle – Utilized while painting expansive surfaces.
- Adjust Handle – Connected to the roller handle to be used. Even at great heights, painting is simple to do.
- Brush – It is employed to paint confined spaces, such as edges and corners, which a roller cannot reach.
- Bucket & Net – A paint bucket with a net so you can control how much paint is on the roller.
- Can Opener – Is practical for removing paint can lids. Even a minus screwdriver, if not.
1. Choose The Color.
Depending on the function, decor, and personal preferences of the area, there are many trends in wall colors.
This time, we chose to paint the tiny portion of the wall pink because it has a significant impact and we wanted to enjoy the color’s effect there.
Blueish pink and yellowish pink, albeit close in hue, convey quite different messages.
Place several color samples on the wall and spend a few days staring at them if you’re unsure about your choice.
You can clearly understand the image because colors seem differently depending on how much time you spend looking at them.
Color chips are helpful when analyzing hues. The slight hue variation is visible.
2. Masking
Clean the walls to get rid of dust, etc., and cover the floors, walls, and other surfaces that won’t be painted with a masking cover (curing).
Let’s delicately apply the masking tape, a necessary tool for curing, to the borders where you didn’t paint.
Applying the tape correctly involves squeezing it firmly with your palm to ensure that there are no gaps.
Be careful because the paint will enter any gaps.
3. Start Painting
Up to nearly one-third of the height of the bucket, pour paint from the can into the bucket.
In order to make it easier to apply the paint, the net placed within is pressed to modify how much paint is soaked in the roller or brush. Much of it should be placed on the roller and lightly squeezed onto the net to absorb it evenly. The secret is to apply it to the bottom part of the brush when coating it. As you work, this will stop the paint from dripping.
4. Brush The Edges Very Gently.
Start by painting the area around the taped-off area using a brush.
If a roller cannot be used to paint a small area, such as the area around an electrical outlet or the corners of a wall, use a small brush to delicately fill it in.
5. With A Roller, Paint A Sizable Surface.
A roller is used to paint large portions of the walls. Beginning at the bottom, work your way up.
In order to draw a V shape, move the roller up and down while painting the entire area little by little.
Avoid drawing a border around the area you painted with the brush.
Apply the final coat in the same manner when the surface is dry enough to touch after 30 to 1 hour (during the rainy season, this may take 2 to 3 hours).
In the end, take off the masking tape or masker before the paint has had a chance to fully dry.
When you remove the tape, the paint film can come off if you let it dry completely.
6. Put The Furniture Back On Once It Has Totally Dried, And You’re Done!
The bright living area boasts a vibrant pink wall.
When you actually use it, it matches the furnishings and other decor while blending in seamlessly.
Interesting how the pink appears differently depending on the lighting. I want to cover the ceiling with paint the next time.
The proprietor of this space also spoke in a joyful tone. If you intentionally add color to your life,
It appears that I was able to recognize that in the typical room, new air was born.
You can instill joy into your everyday rhythm by simply painting the walls in front of you.
A subtle blue color is also used to paint the wall at the back’s end.
The perspective of the space has entirely altered.
